Owning Our Faith (Part 2)

Owning your faith means becoming a disciple of Jesus.

Jesus taught us in John 8:31, that if we abide in His Word we are truly His disciples. The word abide means living under His prevailing principles, and conforming your life to His truth.

A disciple is a learner. He or she is in the process. Owning means becoming part of the growth process of discipleship.

A non-owner merely places the Name of Jesus over the doorway of their heart, but never lets Him in by way of practice. These are renters of the faith. What they have will not get them to heaven.
